Backbeat Comedy

Backbeat is Auckland's premiere stand up comedy show featuring a great line up of comedians every show.

This March 23rd line up is guaranteed to be a hell of a good time, featuring Alice Snedden, Guy Mongtomery, Pax Assadi, Nick Rado, Tim Batt and more.

Alice Snedden is the head writer on Jono and Ben and Funny Girls and a 2016 RAW finalist. Alice's debut comedy festival show was awarded 5 stars and got her nominated for Best Newcomer. The Spinoff raved "Snedden kills her first hour."

Nick Rado is a multi-award winner and frequent face on TV - from TV3's Comedy Gala to 7Days to A Night At The Classic. Not only has Rado been voted NZ's greatest MC 4 times running, he's an international performer and one of our country's foremost TV comedy writers to boot.

Guy Montgomery is truly one of a kind and a former Billy T winner, the NZ Herald say; “He's one of just a handful of Kiwi comedians who really just has it - intoxicating, enveloping and absurdly entertaining”. His unmatched on-stage energy, absurd comedy stylings and affable nature sum up to rare kiwi comedy treasure.

Pax Assadi (FRED Award nominee 2016 and LA Laugh Factory's Funniest Person In The World nominee) has been labelled as "a natural at stand up" by The Speakeasy. This Middle Eastern kiwi is a crowd favourite with his biting and fantastic quips on race, being a dad and what’s right and wrong with New Zealand. He’s also one third of the viral sensation Frickin’ Dangerous Bro.

Tim Batt (MC) has been a Billy T nominee, a Best Newcomer Winner at the NZ Comedy Festival and is one half to the international hit podcast The Worst Idea of All Time. He has honed his stand up skills performing across NZ, Melbourne, Sydney, New York City and Los Angeles.
