HLT Studio is urgently seeking two actors to complete the cast of "Eugenia", a NZ drama being directed by David Inglis. Written by Lorae Parry, it is a work of fiction inspired by the lives of several women throughout history and in the present day; women who have crossed the lines of gender and who have lived as a man.

The play is set in two time frames; 1916 and 2016. The actors needed are a female (aged 20-30) to play Rosa, an Italian landlady, in 1916 and Lily, a school student in 2016; and a male (aged 20-30) to play Joe, a cockney boarder/brick worker and a detective in 1916 and Murray, a school student in 2016. Each actor needs to be able to portray each decade.

Accents are not important, rather the ability to portray 2 different characters. The story unfolds inside the development of a school play (the 2016 timeline) based on Eugenia's life (the 1916 timeline). Eugenia is put to death for the murder of Violet, a murder she did not commit. Some of the script is in Italian and English, however we will be performing in English. No singing is required as we will be using pre-recorded music.

The supporting roles must all convey the conflicted thinking and views of past and modern times. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays & Thursdays 7.30-10pm and Sundays 2-5pm.

Production dates: October 3-6. If interested, contact the director, David Inglis on president@hlt.org.nz or 029 376 3556.
