ArtWest is a community art exhibition and art sale, showcasing over 60 West Auckland artists and makers. Established in 2009 it is an unique event that collectively celebrates and honours the diverse arts practised in our communities, in an environment that is accessible to a broad audience.

Programme of Events include:
Public opening - Friday 26 October 6pm
Dance performance by Kelston Girls’ College students; Sounds with Strictly vinyl DJ Empress Naima; Tastes created by Chef Iafeta Matagi.

Exhibition opening times - Sat 27 – Tues 30 10 – 4pm
Exhibiting work by 70+ Contemporary West Auckland Artists. A visual feast of local arts and mediums which includes sculpture, photography, a short film, jewellery, soap, painting, textiles, ceramic, illustration, raranga and virtual reality.

Colour My World - is a series of workshops developed by ArtSpark and Kelston’ Girls College to give children from 6 local schools a unique opportunity to create individual artworks. These will be displayed together creating a large art installation at ArtWest.

Art+Workshops - Sun 28 11 – 2pm
For all ages. The Creative Souls Projects will provide hands on kids workshops; Mairi Gunns virtual reality common/place; Numangatini MacKenzie will be hand printing one of a kind pareu.

Dinner At ArtWest - Sat 27 6:30pm – 9pm
ArtsWhau will be hosting an evening of kai, conversation, art and games. Places are limited, find out more here.
