Join experienced Antarctic traveller and scientist John Rogers as he takes you on a journey through one of the world's most remote and undiscovered regions.

This five part course will consist of the following lectures:
- The Auckland Islands - The human history of a New Zealand remote wilderness – settlement and shipwrecks
- Antarctic Unveiled - Early exploration of Antarctica – James Cook, James Clark Ross, Dumont D’Urville and others
- The Antarctic Treaty System - How the world came together to preserve and protect the land and sea south of 60 degrees
- Ice and Sky - Looking up and down in Antarctica – current science related to ice, astronomy and atmosphere
- History of Whaling - A look at the history of commercial whaling with an emphasis on the Southern Ocean
