Community Land Trusts; Complementary Currencies; Savings Pools; Mutual Aid Networks: Join this weekend course to look at solutions to the failings of our current economic system. The current economy's extractive nature is damaging not just our natural spaces but also our communities.

There's another way. All over the world governments are starting to pay attention to people who are promoting the Wellbeing Economy - economic systems that regenerate nature and support all peoples. Exploring and extending on the work of Kate Raworth in her book Doughnut Economics, Gen de Spa and Charles Drace move from theory to practice - we will work as a group to take practical action to initiate and encourage Wellbeing Economics in Christchurch/Canterbury.

Gen De Spa is currently initiating a remnant native forest restoration and biodiversity education project at her home in Staveley, completing a Masters in Wellbeing Economics and teaching and actioning Wellbeing Economics in Christchurch and Mid-Canterbury.

Author, speaker, lecturer and committed activist, Charles has studied economic history through the ages.

We want to nourish all those that attend this important workshop as so will provide lunch and morning tea. A small koha towards the cost of food is appreciated.
