Every year in Poland, the Polish Government chooses key people to celebrate, known as The Year Of… This year, at the museum, we are showcasing ‘The Year of Irena Sendler’, whose life was made famous in the film 'Life in a Jar'.

Irena was a selfless nurse who saved Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto in World War 2.

Museum entry by donation, thank you.

Open hours Tue-Fri 10-4 ; Sun 12-5pm. Closed Mon & Sat except by special arrangement.

Group bookings available by arrangement. $10 per person, includes welcome, talk, film and morning or afternoon tea. Group workshops available by arrangement. $8 per person, including adults, includes materials.

The Polish museum is for all New Zealanders. "GLAM" Gallery, Library, Archive, Museum.

Howick is a destination that offers variety including Howick beach, Stockade Hill, various Fencible sites and historical walks, All Saints Church, Uxbridge Creative Arts Centre, Te Tuhi Gallery and Howick Historical Village.

The quaint Howick village shops are a 5-minute walk from the museum and the Botany Town Centre is a 10 minute drive.
