An award night and screenings of all short movies that were submitted for the Award. Entries are still open.
For the Young Filmmakers award, we accept films that promote conservation, sustainability or other environmental issues. The award is open to individual young filmmakers and filmmaking groups under 23. Closing date for submissions is 28 February 2017.
Whether you work alone, with friends, a teacher or adult filmmaker if you are under 23 and have made a film then this award is for you. Comedy, horror, drama, documentary, music video, animation, Sci-Fi, a fantasy we want to see them all, but don’t forget it’s all about the environment!
We accept movies that are 10 mins or less in length, and this is inclusive of title and end credits. A film has to be submitted with a digital still image, synopsis and completed entry form.
- Junior section - under 12 years old
- Youth section - 13 to 18 years old
- Tertiary section - 19 to 23 years old
Prizes are to awarded by our jury of industry professionals, filmmakers, environmentalists, and educators. All films will be screened at the Reel Earth Environmental film festival on May 11, 2017.
Prizes for the Junior and the Youth sections will include certificates and goodie bags.
Prizes for the Tertiary section:
- 1st prize valued at $800.
- 2nd prize valued at $500.
- 3rd prize valued at $300.
And there will also be a People’s Choice Prize and other prizes.
