With Terry Hooper, BA (Honours) in Theatre, with the assistance of Creative Communities/Auckland Council - A graduate of the Rose Bruford School of Speech and Drama, UK.

Brief outline of course:
"The only way to learn how to direct a play is… to get a group of actors simple enough to allow you to let you direct them, and direct." – Sir Tyrone Guthrie

Directing is a many-faceted art form that requires critical analysis and practical skills that are better served by a short course like this. Also leading to the participants presenting the theatre with new ideas for short seasons to complement the calendar.

The first four classes will be teaching-focused and deal with preparation, then the last four will be more driven by the students to bring the play to life in a rehearsal scenario, with a public performance, followed by a debriefing session.
