Myth busting with tasty treats: The low down on eating and living well.

Come and listen to a romp through the history and politics, the science and pleasure of food. Find out how to make the most of the amazing food available to us today, to live well, eat delicious dinners and avoid being killed by it. Dinner will be provided halfway through and a demonstration of how to make an easy, cheap and super tasty meal for all the family.

Dr Marion Leighton is a physician at Wellington hospital. She deals with acute and chronic diseases, many which are caused by our modern lifestyles. What we eat and how we live are the most important ways to keep ourselves healthy. She has done extensive research to cut through the hype and newspaper headlines and bring you the essentials for being well.

About Winter Wellness:
It’s easy to forget that taking care of yourself takes time and effort, especially in the depths of winter! For the month of August, here at the Newtown Community Centre we've got a series of events to spark your well being efforts into life. Let's value our mental health as much as our physical health.
