About Anahera:
It’s not often that a script leaves the audience wanting more, with twists and turns that unfold throughout. It’s guaranteed that viewers will be left craving another scene. Co-writer, Emma Kinane has crafted a story that not only will be very familiar with audiences but also shocking.

Anahera is described as an enthralling mix of a powerful missing child drama and a behind-closed-doors look at New Zealand’s social services. A finalist in last year’s Adam New Zealand Play Awards, the show covers how one woman makes a stand to make all the difference.

Reviewed as; “a play for today that will resonate with audiences long after they have left the theatre” shapes the Dominion Post.

About the special guests:
With a colourful resume under her belt, director Katie Wolfe has made the transition from actor to director. After leading roles in Marlin Bay, Cover Story, and Mercy Peak she stepped behind the camera in 2002, directing on Shortland Street. In 2008 she directed her first short film This Is Her, which screened at festivals around the globe.

Dramaturge Emma Kinane, will discuss her finely honed script of Anahera which has been honoured with compelling integrity. An award-winning playwright, “I love writing about big ideas - big thoughts and when two opposing ideologies bash into each other”. That, and the fallout from how individual people deal with a big idea that needs to be talked through.

Actress Jacqueline Nairn, familiar to audiences from her roles on Shortland Street and The Brokenwood Mysteries, has bought her A-game to Anahera with dramatisation as Liz in the highly regarded play.

Nairn, a celebrated actress within New Zealand’s acting realm, is no stranger to stage and screen having built a successful acting portfolio, with accompanied accolades.
