Who are you?
How do you describe yourself?
Is it who you truly are, or how others perceive you?

Inspired by your anonymous responses the cast of ‘Best on Tap’ instantly creates a hilarious and heartbreaking unscripted show.

As part of this year Fringe Festival at BATS Theatre, Wellington-based improv troupe Best on Tap presents 'Who?' a show about who we really are.

The show also includes the audience-favorite 'speed-dating' scene, in which countless couples, inspired by your self-descriptions, try to find true love by manipulating their personality to suit the others' needs. This unscripted show, like all of Best on Taps, performances, is unique each night, reflecting each audience's collective experiences.

This format was created by internationally renowned improviser and tutor Bobbi Block. Her Tongue and Groove spontaneous theatre company in Philadelphia uses the technique of Actors’ Improv to create theatre that combines the dramatic integrity of playwriting with the playful tension of spontaneously generated work.

Through collaborative inspiration with the audience, her shows examine authentic relationships and perform emotionally dynamic, physically intimate, serio-comic theatre… that happens to be improvised! We are lucky to have the opportunity to bring Bobbi to Wellington for the Fringe Festival.

The Who? format has been performed only in Philadelphia. This is the International premiere of this style of improvisation, here in the Wellington Fringe Festival.

Best on Tap consists of Adam Williamson, Amy Davison, Barry Miskimmin, Geoff Simmons, Kate Wilson, Mary Little, Matt Hutton, Nicola Pauling, Wiremu Tuhiwai - and improvising lighting guru, D' Woods. The cast has decades of accumulated improv experience, including teaching and devising. Recent Best on Tap shows have included Letters From the Front and The Mixtape.

“Best on Tap’s improvisation skills are evident, demonstrating excellent support and delivering quirky laughs." - Art Murmurs

“When watching skilful improvisation, it's easy to forget that the actors are actually making this all up on the spot – it's that good.” - Theatreview
