Walk2Work

This event celebrates Walk2Work Day and Parks Week!

Kumutoto Stream is one of the many streams that run through the CBD to the harbour – although, like almost all of them, it now runs mostly through a pipe. We’ll be exploring its catchment, visiting the last remaining un-piped stream, looking at some restoration projects along the route and exploring some of the short cuts and byways.

The walk will go from the University to the Kina sculpture (where the stream enters the harbour), but not in a straight line. There are some rough tracks/steps, and we’ll be crossing grass, so wear walking shoes.

We’ll probably take about 45 minutes depending on how often we stop and how many by-ways we wander down, but feel free to leave the walk at any point if you need to be at work earlier.

Meeting point: Salamanca Road, by the entrance to Club Kelburn/University Squash club.
No bookings required. The more the merrier.
