The new Victoria University Folk Music Club is hosting a mini festival in Wellington city over the weekend of 29 September to 1 October 2017, featuring a concert and a ceilidh, accompanied by workshops and sessions.

Friday evening:
We're very excited to present as our headline act world-class Canadian fiddle player Gillian Boucher and multiple Tui Award winner Bob McNeill, who offer tunes and songs from Canada, Scotland, New Zealand and beyond. Support from local youngsters Buíon, who between them have experience in the worlds of traditional Irish, Scottish and Canadian music, Highland piping and contemporary composition.

Saturday evening:
Ceilidh with the Vic Uni Ceilidh Band and guest caller Caoimhe McKearney from Ireland. Live, high-energy Irish and Scottish tunes. No experience required, and it's the easiest and most fun dancing you'll ever do!

11:30am – 1pm: Cape Breton Fiddle Workshop with Gillian Boucher, Tuatara Third Eye
1pm – 5pm: Session, Tuatara Third Eye
