Take a close look at solar cycles, coronal mass ejections and other solar activity and see what causes the different colours of auroras.

Look at the Earth’s magnetic field and see how it protects us from the Sun’s radiation and how it works, as well as aurora and magnetic fields in other parts of the solar system.

It will also include The talk will also cover some of the more notable solar storms, such as those that took out the North American electrical grid, which gave magnificent auroras, as well as the dangers that solar storms present to our modern electronic world. Presented by Terence Galuszka.
