Paul Ego -
Paul Ego is a veteran of the NZ comedy scene and has been described as “NZ’s Top Professional Comedian” and “The Master of Improv.”
Best known as team leader on TV3’s comedy panel show ‘7DAYS’ and as the voice of a large yellow supermarket, Paul is one of NZ’s most in-demand live and corporate performers.
Matt Stellingwerf -
2012 Raw Comedy Quest semi-finalist, Matt Stellingwerf is a fast rising star on the New Zealand comedy scene, and highly regarded by his peers. Matt has won four NZ Comedy Guild Awards, been nominated for several others, and was nominated as Best Newcomer at the 2014 NZ International Comedy Festival.
Matt is a 2016 Billy T Comedy Award Nominee (also a 2015 Nominee).
Hamilton-born and Wanganui-raised farmer's son and trained criminologist, an award-winning bar fly and genuinely lovely guy, Matt Stellingwerf is a man of contradictions.
He expertly brings these contradictions to the stage with his typical low-key style and confidence, finding the humour in topics as diverse as love, mental illness, sex, drugs, and this crazy interview he once conducted with a serial killer on Death Row!
Matt now brings a worldview inspired by alcoholic shearing gangs, bizarre Dutch relatives, and criminological theory to the stage and attempts to answer some of life's enduring mysteries. So come along, grab a brew, have a laugh and remember...lower expectations make it better for everyone!
He has performed extensively around New Zealand, from Cape Reinga to Invercargill, and everywhere in between!
On television you may have seen him on Maori TV's Crack Up, and getting shot with a crossbow in a strip club on TV ONE’s Coverband.
"An intellectual ‘Fonze’...extremely laid back and relaxed with the audience, seamlessly having banter and keeping his cool" Keeping Up With NZ
David Correos -
A meteoric act in the NZ comedy scene, the Filipino comic recently won the 2016 Billy T James award.
David grew up in Christchurch and after deciding stand up comedy and performing arts was the career he wanted to pursue, David moved to Auckland in 2014 and has been making big strides since the move including being given the "Comic Originality" award at the 2015 Comedy Guild Awards.
His style of comedy can be described as a big ball of manic energy that even his body can't keep up with.
"David Correos seems only to have to stand there to get laughs" - Theatreview (Aotearoa: Rising Stars).
His energetic performance leaves him panting for air and the audience begging for more. - Metromag.
A one-man circus who will do practically anything to entertain an audience for the genuine love of it.- Theatrescenes
Dave McCartney -
Criminal charm with a self-deprecating posture McCartney’s contagiously charismatic personality will whisk you down his memory lane of which you never asked to go, and there’s no coming back.
Within his first 10 months, he made his way to the Grand Final for the 2015 Raw Quest as well as acquiring a nomination for “Best Newcomer” from the NZ Comedy Guild.
In 2016 as a part of the NZ International Comedy Festival, he was selected to be a part of “The Next Big Things” hosted by Ben Hurley and he’s only getting betterish.
Whether you’re laughing with him or at him, it's all good he’ll take what he can get.
There hasn’t been a McCartney this good since Jesse.
"Dave McCartney is undoubtedly one of New Zealand’s best storytelling comics - he hooks you from the moment he walks out on stage." - The Speakeasy.
