Our region has long been known as an artistic hotspot, but when visitors come, what do they find?

How do we compare to newer art centres such as New Plymouth? Can Nelson position itself as a healthy haven for artists with a thriving arts culture and economy? Join Auckland critic Anthony Byrt, Light Nelson co-founder John-Paul Pochin, former gallery owner Philip Woollaston and Nelson artists Fleur Woods and Josephine Cachemaille. Nelson-based journalist Paul McIntyre keeps order.

Come early to order coffee - when the talking begins the machine is turned off!

Continue the conversation at 10am on both Tuesdays after the weekend sessions, with discussion groups at Nelson’s Elma Turner Library.

Part of the Nelson Arts Festival Page & Blackmore Readers and Writers programme.
