Hello, everyone!

Handstand and Hand Balance Workshops! 20th and 21st of June.

Well now - Have we got a treat for you!! Come and join Aaron Burr and the team for these 2 workshops that will focus on all aspects of the journey to get to handstand. For those of you who don’t know Aaron, he is a regular coach at the yoga lounge and already works with some of our members who want to focus on handstand and hand balance.

We will look at all aspects of how to safely go upside down, and look at the key aspects of the strength, alignment, and balance that are required to maintain a solid free floating handstand.

There are two workshops spread over this weekend - a beginners workshop on Saturday, and an intermediate class on Sunday. The Beginners Workshop is suitable for those who are new to handstands or want to refresh their technique. This workshop focuses on building flexibility and strength to prepare you for handstands. Aaron pays particular attention to preparing the body safely.

You’ll be working on wrist and shoulder pre-habilitation, core stability, strength, and alignment and will start to play with low balances and holds against the wall. Aaron will also give you take away exercises so you can continue to work on your handstands.

The Intermediate Workshop is suitable for those that can already enter and exit a handstand. This workshop will coordinate the flexibility and strength needed for inversions. You’ll be working on alignment, with the wrist, shoulder, and core conditioning, getting into and out of balances, and increasing your hold time both against and away from the wall. Aaron will also give you take away exercises so you can continue to work on your handstands.

These workshops are designed for a wide range of skill levels of people interesting in handstand and hand balance and are safe and very fun in its approach and techniques to work towards handstand.
