A stand-up comedy/spoken word show combining comedy and music. Exploring a millennial run world where a middle aged man feels like an alien on his own planet. Ian Loughran is the comic, shining a spotlight on a world gone mad with the latest technology apps. and tech speak, were those born in pre-millennial days are feeling alienated and lack the skills to tune their own Televisions. Loughran refuses the mid-life crises, instead taking a stand and fighting while calling the modern world into account. But he is not alone, his confidante in all this is a mysterious Bowie like figure who plays the straight man in the duo, offers sage advice and musical links to the comic subjects explored. Like Bowie, upon whom this mystery man takes his inspiration, alienation is tackled on his own terms in the music he plays and the advice he gives. Loughran’s comedy explores subjects such as Aliens (life on Mars), Death (Ashes to Ashes), Stress of life (Under Pressure), Dating (Modern Love), Celebrity (Fame), Extreme situations (Heroes). Ian Loughran is a seasoned comic hailing from the UK and has performed sold out shows in festivals in Australia and the UK, he was also a finalist in the ‘Quest for the Best Comedy’ Competition in Australia. Guitar virtuoso Andy Parsons plays the Bowie figure acting both as a catalyst and critic to Loughran’s comedy. This show will only play one night in Dunedin before it is whisked off to another World catch it while you can.
