The Messengers:
The word “Angel” means “messenger of God” and this is the essence of the collection here at Welcome Swallow Gallery, Hamilton East.

An Angel can come in many forms, it is not necessarily human in shape or spirit but presents itself to the person in the realm that the individual will most likely receive it and its message.

Our Earth is made up of a complex set of rules and pathways which are not always known to us, Angels guide us on our life journey showing us the signals and giving us the courage to move forward no matter what the challenge.

The natural world is full of the symbolic imagery, from the ethereal Angel to the lowliest insect, the pattern of symmetry and fluttering wings guide us through our lives. If we only take a moment to listen to the beating wings of the butterfly or see the struggle of the beetle in its immaculate symmetrical form, we can hopefully hear the story of our Messengers.

“The Angel Series” depicts the Messengers appearing in their glory to offer caution, courage and fearless devotion to those they protect as they approach, face, and eventually overcome the most intense of life’s struggles.

Entwined within these definite apparitions are the constant reminders that the Angels are always with us offering hope in the flutter of the butterflies, the hum of the bees, and the sheer determination of the beetles. All have their worth and beauty in this world.
