The Hamilton Jazz Society (Inc) have great pleasure in welcoming back The Good Vibes, the young men who wowed us with their talent and a great afternoon of their Jazz last year.

Mentored by Finn Scholes, talented teenagers James, Theo, Harry, Leon and George meet every Monday to jam together.

The Good Vibes genre is Jazz-Funk, 'We clear the nose and soothe the throat with our music and all that Jazz’.

They’ve participated in the Tauranga National Youth Jazz Festival since 2014, winning awards for Most Outstanding Trumpet/Flugel Player (2017, 2016, 2014), Most Outstanding Bassist (2017), Best 1st Year Performance (2014), Best Performance of a NZ Composition (2016), Most Outstanding Pianist (2016), Most Outstanding Keyboard Player (2015).

The combo is at their best performing in a relaxed setting, with recent gigs on the waterfront at the Tauranga Jazz Festival, Hallertau Craft Brewery in Riverhead, lazy Sunday afternoons at Revelry Bar in Ponsonby and a variety of private occasions.

The Good Vibes are delighted to be invited back to the Hamilton Jazz Society. This will be one of the last opportunities to see their fantastic keyboardist, Leon, perform with the band, he is off to study jazz piano in Europe!

Leon Hattori (Keyboard/Piano), George Brajkovich (Drums), James MacEwen (Trumpet), Theo Salmon (Guitar) and Harry Scholes (Bass).

Do join us; it is a great way to relax and unwind at the end of the weekend. Meals and beverages are available for purchase from the Club.
