For centuries, the Habsburg Monarchy were one of the most influential powers in Europe, until their untimely collapse at the end of the First World War in 1918.

What went wrong? Was it the nationalist pressures? Or was it the challenges of total war and the socialist revolution that ultimately led the monarchy to their collapse?

This lecture series will explore the events, and provide you with an appreciation for the diverse nature of the Habsburg dynasty.

Target audience:
This course is for anyone who is interested in history, particularly in World War One.
