The Delicate Balance of Wobbling Stars: An exhibition by Maureen Lander.

Fibre installation artist Maureen Lander explores the astronomical phenomenon of ‘wobbling stars’ by referencing scientific research about the star motion that can be seen amid constellations. She has hand-made different sized stars using flax and bracken. In the lead-up to the exhibition, she and her seven-year-old grandson have been experimenting with ways to make the suspended stars wobble. She will be creating the installation to celebrate the Matariki season.

This exhibition is part of the Matariki Festival.
Saturday Gallery Club no. 27: One Million Stars - Saturday 3 June, between 10:30am and 12pm.
