Courtenay Central is set to officially open The Courtyard, their new pop-up entertainment and food precinct with a bang 21- 22 July.

The dining precinct, located beneath Reading Cinemas, has been given a complete overhaul to become Wellington’s first indoor pop-up food and entertainment park – combining the concepts of modern street food, local coffee and a host of hole-in-the-wall style food operators including Puro Pinche Tex-Mex, Noah’s Ark Tea House, Hop Garden Chip’d, Garuda Food Truck, Kravings NZ, Pour and Twist and Smoothie Love.

The precinct will offer Wellington its newest pop-up eatery and entertainment space with a dedicated relaxation area with beanbags, recharge stations, ongoing activations, workshops and craft market offering from Craft Central.

To kick it off, The Courtyard is throwing a Weekend Block Party 21 - 22 July with local renowned artist Ashley Church AKA Dinosaur Toast installing an original art piece, while DJ Jacques delivers a banging 90s throwback set.

Peanut Butter giants, Fix & Fogg, have teamed up with Tomboy Bakery to create custom Courtyard doughnuts, free to the first 100 people per day to join the celebration.

The party will host a pop-up food village, buskers and a glitter-faction station for party goers who want a Coachella style makeover without the trans-Atlantic flight.

Saturday will be a family fun day with a huge handmade craft market on site, free workshops for all ages, plus lots of giveaways from our friends upstairs at Reading Cinemas.

Matthew Bourke, Managing Director of Real Estate, Reading International Inc says the new entertainment precinct is an exciting development in Courtenay Central’s history.

“We’ve got a range of excellent food vendors and have ensured space is designed to attract and appeal to a wide audience. We’ve got plans to deliver a number of fantastic events in the space, from vegan festivals through to food and beverage pairings. This opening party is a taste of things to come,” Mr Bourke said.

To top off the weekend, the first 400 people to purchase something from one of the new retailers will also win a ticket to a free screening of the smash hit blockbuster Baby Driver on Saturday evening at 8:30pm at Reading Cinemas.
