New Zealand/Aotearoa - Rock musical.

It's time to rock the vote.
Kate Sheppard steps off our $10 note and into a punk rock musical that is loud, proud and in your face.

This riotous show celebrates a feminist firebrand, who helped New Zealand become the first country in the world in which women got the vote.

In That Bloody Woman, directed by Kip Chapman, Sheppard takes on the patriarchy, public opinion and even Prime Minister Richard “King Dick” Seddon.

The suffragette movement and punk rock may seem unlikely bedfellows, but they both share a revolutionary spirit and staunch attitude, that writers Luke Di Somma and Gregory Cooper have captured.

With one foot in the late 1800s and another firmly in the 21st Century, this musical of a New Zealand icon has had sell-out shows, rave reviews and embodies the glorious and gutsy history of Kiwi women.

This work, which was commissioned for the Christchurch Arts Festival, doesn’t let up.

“That Bloody Woman is a bloody great night out.” – Newshub

“This is a kick-ass punk rock musical full of infectious tunes, that is unafraid to have fun…” - The Press

To the point: Punk rock musical/New Zealand icon/loud and proud/revolutionary and kick-ass/fun and feisty.
