We are incredibly excited to welcome Carlos Pomeda back to NZ. It is a true privilege to have this calibre of teacher come and share his knowledge, wisdom and insights. There are 3 different topics to explore over the weekend taught over 5 sessions.

Full session details are on our website.Originally from Madrid, Spain, Carlos has been steeped in all aspects of the yoga tradition during more than 40 years of practice and study. He spent 18 of those years as a monk of the Saraswati order, under the name Swami Gitananda, including 9 years of traditional training and practice in India.

During this time he learned the various systems of Indian Philosophy and immersed himself in the practice of yoga, becoming one of the senior monks of the tradition and teaching meditation and philosophy to tens of thousands of students around the world.

He combines this experience and traditional training with his academic background, which includes two Masters Degrees: one in Sanskrit, from U.C. Berkeley (where he has taught) and another one, in Religious Studies, from U.C. Santa Barbara. He is currently working on a book on the topic of “Karma and the Journey of the Soul”, as well as a new translation of the Śivasūtra, an important Tantric text of the Kashmiri tradition.

20 October - The Joy of Sanskrit
Deepen your understanding of Sanskrit, the language of Yoga and the sacred texts, in this very special 3-hour session. Sanskrit, the language of these scriptures, contains not only the highest knowledge about you and the processes of human consciousness but also carries within itself the secrets of the power of sound.

20 October - The Kularnarva Tantra
If you have wondered what Tantra is all about, join Carlos for a practical exploration of Tantra based on one of its most respected source texts called “Kularnarva Tantra”.

20 & Sunday 21 October - The Shiva Sutras - The Yoga of Supreme Awakening
Take your yoga practice to a deeper level and learn more about the Tantric meditative practices.

The purpose of this workshop is to explore a set of very profound practices that probe beyond the surface of reality to uncover the awareness of the divine in every aspect of life. Drawing from The Shiva Sutras, a foundational text of the Tantric Shaivism of Kashmir, we will uncover a deeper way of looking at life, one that uncovers profound joy and a sense of wonder.
