Based on the traditional Japanese storytelling theatre, Kamishibai, Tanya Batt will awaken your imagination with her interactive illustrated stories!

The Story House is an illustrated storytelling device used for both storytelling and story-making. Bring your ears for listening and your imagination for creating both told and illustrated stories.

"I like to take old stories and dress them up in new clothes, to dance and sing and hope that in doing so, I foster in my audiences a natural delight and curiosity for the world they live in." - Tanya Batt, story-teller and arts educator

Best suited for children three through to ten years of age.

Photography and videography:
Filming and photography by Te Papa may take place at this event. The material might be shared online or through social media.

Please let the event manager or a Te Papa host know if you or a child you are responsible for does not wish to be photographed or filmed.
