A Safe Kapiti in association with the Champions of Kapiti are proud to announce Irene Wakefield and Jeremy Eparaima will be sharing their personal stories of experiencing family violence and transformations to being violent free to our community.

Irene Wakefield: In 2015 Irene founded Prepair NZ after learning that a former relationship was mentally and emotionally abusive. Something she once vowed not to fall victim to. Through Repair Irene educates other women to have a strong sense of self-worth free from mental and emotional abuse. “Be who you needed when you were younger. The teacher, the strong adult, the badass sister who speaks her mind, the one who loves YOU unconditionally”.

Jeremy Eparaima: As a child Jeremy was subjected to physical, emotional and sexual violence at home and at boarding school. He went on to use violence against his wife and children. Jeremy has been violence free for more than 10 years and currently works for It’s not OK Campaign and NZ Police, giving a former perpetrator’s perspective on family violence in Police training programmes.

This event is free for the community to attend as a continued challenge that family violence is not OK in our community. But it is OK to change and it's OK to ask for help!

There will also be an opportunity to meet our Champions of Kapiti afterwards, seek their help and support and discuss what we can to do have a family violence free Kapiti.

If you wish to attend please contact Brian Colegate email - colegate@paradise.net.nz.
