Celebrate the publication of "Hopes Dashed? The Economics of Gender Inequality" by Prue Hyman, BWB Texts.

A small but lucid book.

Prue looks at the changes over the last 23 years - progress and hiccups, ongoing discrimination and biases.

Prue Hyman argues that “equality for women in the labour market is good for everyone, and that feminist economic analysis is crucial to the future of humanity and the planet. Fortunately, feminism is not dead...”

Long time Paekakariki resident Prue Hyman is a former Associate Professor of Economics and Gender and Women’s Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. A feminist economist and activist, Prue has written extensively about differential economic outcomes for women and men, particularly in the labour market. She is active in the living wage and pay equity movements.

Books will be available for purchase at $14.99, cash only please.
Check out the Museum display "Writers & Poets of Paekakariki".

Books by local poets are available for purchase, some of these are not seen in the usual bookshops.

Catch the train - It stops right at our door.
