Southern Jam Youth Jazz Festival 2017 Gala Concert.

If you're looking for a great night out in August (or several for that matter!) look no further than the Southern Jam Youth Jazz Festival!

The only event of its kind in the South Island; it provides a great opportunity for young musicians to learn from other great, well-respected musicians; and for you to be among the first to experience the South Island's next wave of musical talent.

If you have attended Southern Jam before you'll know that the performances include big band sounds and mellow swinging rhythms; most importantly the music is of the highest calibre, which is why the event attracts big name judges; all leading national or international performers!

Held at the world-class ASB Theatre, this will be a very special experience for both audience and performers. The concert will showcase pieces from all participating schools, feature the All-Stars Band compiled from the top musicians of this year's festival as well as offering the opportunity to see the judges band - all national and international artists who have performed around the world - some with the likes of Dave Dobbyn & Jimmy Barnes to Scribe.

In the lead up to the Gala Concert, you'll be able to attend some other public performances. As part of the audience, not only will you enjoy great entertainment, you'll also experience some wonderful Marlborough hospitality at local eateries, bars and social clubs.
