Sir Colin is, without a doubt, the most iconic New Zealander today, regarded by many as New Zealand’s greatest ever rugby player.

Not only was he a legendary All Black (1957-71) but he is a legendary man who represents the good, honest, hardworking Kiwi bloke, a man who has unselfishly given his time to hundreds of charitable causes.

People worldwide admire and respect Sir Colin, and as a town, we believe it is time to honour and pay tribute to ‘Pinetree’. Come along and celebrate Te Kuiti and All Black legend Sir Colin Meads as we pay tribute to this great man.

The statue will officially be unveiled at 1:30pm by Sir Colin Meads followed by the opening of The Meads Brothers Exhibition.

The 1.5 x life size bronze sculpture has been designed and made by Auckland artist Natalie Stamilla who created the sculpture of All Black great Michael Jones at Eden Park.

This is a free community event and all are welcome.

Please note: A portion of the main street (Rora Street) will be closed from midday, please arrive in time to secure a car park and allow 5-10 minutes to walk to the statue location.
