Seleno Health

Special presentation by Dr Corin Storkey and Sally Huapaya who are a young New Zealand and Peruvian couple who are founders and directors of a boutique health company called Seleno Health.

Sally’s grandad was one of the many farmers who left his farm to seek opportunities in the city as he, like so many others from the region believed that there was no future in farming, despite sitting on top of an agricultural gold mine. Traditions are being lost, farmers and communities are suffering and the industry is at breaking point.

Come and learn about:

- The anthropology of Incan maca farming
- Farm to Table maca – from the soil to your plate
- The biochemistry of maca – relating the tradition with the scientific research
- The application of maca as a therapeutic
- Farmer and community exploitation
- The impact of global consumerism
- Seleno Health’s social responsibility programs
- Volunteering opportunities in Peru
- What you can do to make a difference
