Dr Mike Hickford, Dr Tommaso Alestra, and Masters candidate, Isis Metcalfe from the Marine Ecology Research Group (MERG), University of Canterbury will share some of their insights on whitebait, the Japanese kelp Undaria pinnatifida, and a truly unique seaweed species, Notheia anomala.

- Dr Mike Hickford: “Whitebait, the bits we know, the bits we think we know and everything in between”.
- Dr Tommaso Alestra: Impacts of the invasive seaweed Undaria pinnatifida in the Lyttelton harbour – friend or foe of native species?
