Ocean Ecologist, Diver, Teacher, Author and Photographer Glenn Edney presents a thought-provoking evening talk for Sea Week 2017 entitled, Healing The Ocean Saving Ourselves.

Free entry or Koha.

Glenn has been exploring the Ocean and interacting with the underwater world for more than 30 years - on a live-aboard dive business to the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve, in Indonesia, the UK, the US and more especially the Kingdom of Tonga, where for 6 years he ran a diving and whale watching enterprise. His passion for the Ocean is infectious and time spent in his company will sweep you away on a voyage of discovery into the blue heart our planet.

This evening will be a celebration of Ocean life as well as providing insights into the major threats facing the Ocean. Drawing on his wealth of knowledge and experiences, Glenn offers ways that we can individually and collectively work towards protecting the Ocean surrounding our beautiful coast.

Together with his wife Janey, they formed Ocean Spirit with the aim of fostering in humanity a deeper and more harmonious relationship with the living Ocean. They live on the beautiful Tutukaka Coast north of Whangarei.

On Friday 3rd March Glenn and Janey invite you to join them aboard Yukon Dive’s SV “Pacific Hideaway” for a day trip out to the vibrant underwater world of the Poor Knights Marine Reserve.

Please see separate event for details.

Please feel free to come around 7pm and to stay on afterwards to enjoy drink and something to eat at the Wahi Bar in Oceans. Glenn and Janey will be around after the talk to chat informally.
