Discover weird, wonderful and practical science at Scion’s free exhibition.

Scion is bringing its science to the city with a free exhibition to celebrate 70 years of research in Rotorua.

Come along and discover the history of forestry science, the world-class science that is going on right now and what the future might bring. You won’t want to miss the interactive zone, the perfect place for your future scientist to explore hands-on science.

Scion staff will also hold lunchtime talks from 12:30-1pm on the following topics:
- 12 July - Data beyond the naked eye - Bryan Graham
- 13 July - How tall can a wooden building be? - Doug Gaunt
- 14 July - What’s tree genetics all about? Emily Telfer
- 17 July - Counting the ways forests contribute value - Sandra Velarde/Richard Yao –
- 18 July - How revolutionary is 3D printing? - Marie Joo Le Guen
- 19 July - Why does going ‘bio’ make sense? - Florian Graichen
- 20 July - Bugs and bioplastics - Ali Nazmi
- 21 July - Border Patrol – Keeping the bugs out - Peter Scott
