School holiday horse riding fun days!

Kelly Rowe School of Riding will be running more fun days over the December/January school holiday period. Students can bring their own pony or use ours. Each student will have one riding lesson (small groups) in the morning and one elective ride in the afternoon eg river hack, games.

Students learn the following skills: grooming, tacking up, paddock management, feeding your pony, turning out a pony for a show, maintaining and cleaning your tack, and general care and attention.

There is a whole day planned for kids up to the age of 17 that love horses and would like to learn more about them. No riding experience or any knowledge about horses needed, you just need to bring yourself. We prefer students to be aged five years or older for our fun days. Half days are available for younger students.

Our tutors are experienced with both horses and children. We have a maximum of eight students to each tutor so your child will be well supervised. Students need to bring their own lunches and drink bottles. Riding helmets are supplied for your lesson and must be returned after, but if you prefer, you may bring your own riding helmet.

Safe footwear is essential. Covered shoes with a low heel, or smooth-soled gumboots, are recommended. Please bring wet weather gear and a change of clothes in case you get wet (we ride in the rain!)

If you bring your own horse/pony all their feed and hay needs to be brought with them, along with their track and any other special items.

We have over 25 horses and ponies ranging from little 6 hand high ponies all the way up to 16 hand horses. Plus a range of friendly farm animals available to feed and handle.
