Sorry this event has been and gone

  • Sat 10 Jun ’17, 9:00am – 5:00pm

St Chads Communication Centre, Corner of Fenton & Devon Streets, Rotorua

All Ages

An annual event on the calendar for Rotorua and Taupo music teachers, which encourages children, teenagers and adults who are learning an instrument, including voice, to participate in performing music in front of a small audience and to have a valuable critique from a renowned NZ adjudicator.

The judge this year is the respected university lecturer in voice, Emma Sloman. The event includes the Nell Trail Junior and Intermediate Scholarships and the more and more popular New Zealand Composer Classes. This year students have chosen to perform pieces on piano by a variety of our NZ composers including Vivienne Sands, Christopher Norton, Sandra Lynch and Gareth Farr from Wellington.

There will be over 100 items by students ranging from 6 years of age to 18 years and individual classes for adults.

Students will participate in both the competitive events and the Eisteddfod enabling the Rotorua public, including their proud families and teachers, to witness the level of competence such young individuals have achieved through hard work, a passion for music and the work done by dedicated professional music teachers.

This year when the Rotorua and Taupo branch of Registered Music Teachers is celebrating its Ruby Revelry (40 years of providing children of this area with the opportunity to learn an instrument and take part in many events during the year to hone their skills as performers).

There is only a small door entry charge per session but this does not reflect on the standard of performance the public will witness.
