Musician Bios:
Leon Hattori is about to move to Europe to study jazz piano at a conservatory in either the Netherlands or Germany. He has won several awards at the National Youth Jazz Competition, including "Most Outstanding Pianist" and "Best Performance of a New Zealand Composition" for one of his own compositions in 2016.

Denholm Orr is currently undergoing research masters in jazz bass performance at the University of Auckland. He and pianist Leon have travelled to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam for their international summer jazz course.

Daniel Waterson is currently in his 3rd year of studying a bachelor of music in jazz performance and plays regularly with various groups around Auckland such as Bewyldabeast, Oli Holland's Jazz Attack and for Songwriter Nick Dow. Daniel has also won several awards such as the “Most Outstanding Musician” award at the annual National Youth Jazz Competition in Tauranga in 2014.

Leon, Denholm and Daniel will perform mostly original music. The programme comprises two approx 45 min sets with a 15 min intermission.

The event is a Rotary Mt Eden fundraiser. Nett proceeds will go to Polio Plus (to End Polio Now) and to local Rotary Youth Programmes:

- Rotary International, along with its partners, has helped reduce polio cases by more than 99% worldwide and there are now only 3 countries left who suffer from Polio – Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. We are so close to making history by being able to eradicate this terrible disease;

- Our local youth programmes are designed to help young people to become the next generation of leaders, visionaries and peacemakers.

Rotary Mt Eden thanks its event sponsors, which include: the Chapter Book & Tea Shop, The Digital Darkroom and Kohu Road Ice Cream.
