The Port Chalmers Seafood Festival , set at the Port of Otago, is iconic for showing off local seafood cuisine and the seaside town which welcomes over 90 cruise ships every summer, and was the birthplace of New Zealand’s export meat trade.

- Guest acts include: Hollie Smith & Band, Ragged, Idol Frets, Mike Rigg, Logan Park High School Jazz Band
- Kids entertainment including face painting, pirate ship sand box treasure hunt, story time y local authors, pirates and mermaids, balloon animals and so much more! Kids under 12 are free.
- Free buses to and from the festival leaving Dunedin city from the Dunedin Railway Station. You can also catch the train, or one of our local boats!

The Festival is completely run by local volunteers who have worked together to create a professional festival that is fun for the whole family. Its roots are in the community it serves and in 2015 the festival returned over $20,000 to West Harbour and wider Dunedin community groups. If you would like to be a volunteer for 2017 check out our Volunteer Form

It’s all here with over 40 stalls...
Legendary Southern Clams, crayfish, fresh fish, New Zealand Green Lipped mussels, Whitebait, Emerson's craft beer, Mt Difficulty Central Otago wine, kids games and story time, live local music, cooking demonstrations, free buses… the list could go on! It’s all here with over 40 stalls and set right here in Port Chalmers!

The new & improved venue!
Port Otago is the heart and soul of Port Chalmers industry, and they’re kind enough to donate the use of their new cruise ship terminal which gives us over two times more covered space, so no matter the weather there will be plenty of shelter (even if the Kraken comes knocking).
