Julie Moselen is an Auckland based printmaker, sculptor and jeweller trained at the prestigious Birmingham School of Jewellery well known for its emphasis on applying a contemporary twist to fine jewellery techniques. Other award-winning graduates include Jack Row and Rod Kelly.

She explores a multidisciplinary practice creatively inspired and drawn to nature in all its forms and life cycles expressed simply, elegantly and timelessly.

Her jewellery background is also evident in the recently completed large Oamaru stone sculpture commissioned by the KAC where she has been an integral part of the development of the new Centre over the last decade.

Through extensive exploration and experimentation with materials, Moselen references her preoccupation with sense of place, and relationship with the natural world and its cultures, traditions and motifs.

Periphery is at Railway Street Studios from 2 - 21 February 2017.
