Papamoa Hills Regional Park, Poplar Lane, Tauranga

An amazing night walk through the Papamoa Hills to Summerhill Farm to enjoy coffee and cake. The walk is approximately 5 kms (1-hour) and has stunning views over Tauranga. Entrants are returned by minivan to their vehicles. All money raised supports the work of the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust.

In loving memory of Janet Chapman.
Prior entry only - no entries on the night for safety reasons.

13 years and older only.

Your walk starts from the carpark at the end of Poplar Lane and finishes at the Mongolian Ger in the Summerhill Farm. You will be transported back to your car after the walk.

Walkers will start in waves in their allocated time slot. Meet at the car park for Papamoa Hills Culture and Heritage Park, on Poplar Lane. We will walk on the formed track up to the summit, then along the narrow track through fields to Summerhill Farm on Reid Road.

The walk is 5km, and will take approximately 1 hour. All participants will receive a cup of coffee and piece of cake at the Mongolian Ger, which has great views over the city on a fine night. Minivans will transport walkers from Summerhill farm back to their cars on Poplar Lane.

A reasonable standard of agility and fitness is required, if you are unsure or unfamiliar with the area, please check with us before entering. Walkers must be aged 13+.

You need warm clothing, preferably polypropylene, a wool or fleece hat, waterproof jacket, walking shoes with good grip, a cell phone and a torch with fresh batteries.

Walkers are able to start anytime within 15 minutes of their wave start to allow small groups to enjoy the tranquillity of the trails. If you are a solo walker please let us know beforehand and we can arrange for you to join other walkers.

If you are entering more than one person, please make sure you enter each person's name, as we need individuals on our master sheet for sign in and out safety procedures. You are responsible for ensuring your group walkers have received the safety information.

Your entry fee covers the cost of supper, donation for use of the Ger, an adventure and night out with friends, and all profits are donated to the Breast Cancer Support Services Tauranga Trust - a local charity working with local people who have breast cancer.
