In partnership with Penguin Random House New Zealand, Word Christchurch is pleased to present Gregg Hurwitz, the New York Times bestselling author of Orphan X and its sequel The Nowhere Man.

Come and hear how this Shakespeare-tragedy scholar, crime-novel and comic-book author has now successfully created a compelling, authentic and savvy modern-day action hero.

Gregg will be interviewed by local crime reviewer Ken Strongman, followed by an audience Q & A and book signing, with books available to purchase on the night.

The Washington Post said of Orphan X: ‘A smart, stylish, state-of-the-art thriller [which] might give Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books a run for their money.’ New Zealanders have also embraced Orphan X: it was a Top 10 bestseller here in 2016.

Gregg Hurwitz is the author of 15 thrillers, including Orphan X. His novels have been shortlisted for numerous literary awards, graced top ten lists, and have been translated into 25 languages. He is also a New York Times bestselling comic book writer, having penned stories for Marvel (Wolverine, Punisher) and DC (Batman, Penguin). Additionally, he’s written screenplays for many of the major studios, and written, developed and produced television for various networks. He lives in Los Angeles.
