Our concert welcomes Johann Vexo, Organist Nancy Cathedral and Choir Organist Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris and Damien Rivière Tenor, Notre-Dame Cathedral Choir, Paris as they present a concert of music by Bach, Alain, Vierne, Durufle and Langlais in support of our Organ Restoration Fund.

The Cathedral's 111-year-old Hobday pipe organ badly requires major restoration work and repair. It has been 25 years since its last rebuild and in that time severe electrical issues, wind leaks and pipe damage has occurred, compounded by the Kaikoura earthquake of November 2016.

To keep the organ working and in reasonable speaking condition regular running repairs are carried out, but this is only a short-term fix and not sustainable. In order to restore it and continue its service to the Wellington Archdiocese and the wider Wellington community, we need to raise $650,000.

Please do come along to listen to some fantastic music performed by leading French artists in support of our organ fundraising campaign.

Tickets available on the door (cash or eftpos), or from the Cathedral office 04 496 1700.
