  • Audition Workshop 2 Day 13-16 Years: $120.00

Develop practical skills to help you ace TV and film auditions.
For ages 13-16 years.

- Develop practical skills to use in the film industry!
- Communicate and interpret acting concepts.
- Develop critical analysis skills.
- Recognise and evaluate acting forms.
- Experience best professional practices in film and TV.
- Meet film and TV industry professionals.
- Get ready to build your overall confidence and self esteem as an actor!

Day 1– TVC Prep & Auditioning - 1 x non-dialogue TVC script (to be sent out and learnt prior to course)
- Meet the camera.
- Your cast-able self.
- You and the industry requirements.
- Introduction to script and character analysis.
- The 5 W’s, a Good I.D, analyse, critique, interpret.

Auditions: Perform a non-dialogue TVC script. Everyone will get in front of the camera and have a go!

Day 2 – Drama Prep & Auditioning - 1 x TV drama script to learn. All lines MUST BE LEARNT (sent out prior to course).

Take all that you have learnt from day 1 and inject it into day 2!

Refresh - The 5 W’s.
Auditions: Perform the TV drama script / Everyone to get in front of the camera and have a go!
All students will be a reader behind the camera as well.

Parents are invited to watch the director’s picks of their children's TV drama scenes in the last hour of the course.

Teaching artists:
Matt Dwyer:
Matt Dwyer has been a professional actor for 17 years. He trained at Auckland’s Unitec Drama School (97 – 99) and gained a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts. He has toured in theatre and performed many roles on-screen – most notably as Shortland Streets’ evil Dr. Brett Franklin (2014/15)
His producing credit’s include the short film Intake (2009) and a comedy TV pilot The Acid Test.

He has worked in the New Zealand casting industry since 2002. He & Mike have owned Barefoot Casting since 2005.

Mike Dwyer:
Mike Dwyer has worked as a professional actor for 18 years. He trained, performed and toured with The Questors Theatre in Ealing, London (87 – 90). In New Zealand, along with many acting roles – both on-screen and stage, he directed & devised theatre - How to Score Drugs (Solo Fringe Wgtn 1997) Sad Ape (Axe-with Group – Site-specific 1999).

He produced an adaptation of The Cherry Orchard (Herald Theatre 1998) directed Jackie Van Beek’s The Mayfly (Silo Theatre 2001) and directed a piece for the Short & Sweet Festival (2011).

He has worked in the New Zealand casting industry since 2000.
