It's a battle of the brains and who will win out? Human intelligence or artificial intelligence? Man or machine? It's the topic for this year's No Barriers, small Island, big ideas panel discussion.

Breakout sessions by experts in their field of human or artificial intelligence will run from 9:30 am until 2 pm. This will be followed by the panel discussion moderated by Damien Christie, broadcaster, and journalist.

The panel will be moderated by Damian Christie, broadcaster, and journalist.

Panelists are:
- Michael Corballis, psychologist, and author, who will talk about human intelligence.
- Albert Yeap, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Director of CAIR at AUT, will discuss the real danger of AI in its search for an artificial mind.
- Kaila Colbin, creative entrepreneur, will talk about the dangers and control of artificial intelligence.
- Sir Richard Faull, neuroscientist and academic, who will explore what else the human brain can do.

The panel of experts has been brought together by Awana Rural Women, a volunteer group of 28 women on Great Barrier Island. It is a free event, open to residents and visitors alike.
