The Centre for Brain Research and Music Therapy New Zealand are pleased to announce this Music Therapy Week event, hosted by Prof. Suzanne Purdy, Alison Talmage RMTh and Shari Storie RMTh in conjunction with Music Therapy New Zealand.

There is growing national and international interest in professional practice and research in the area of singing for people with communication difficulties related to a neurological condition, such as stroke, aphasia, Parkinson's disease, dementia and traumatic brain injury.

We warmly invite fellow practitioners, choir leaders and potential choir leaders to a stimulating day which will include skill sharing, research updates, networking, discussion of direct, consultative and interdisciplinary (music therapy and speech-language therapy) approaches, and an interactive session with the CeleBRation Choir, a Centre for Brain Research Initiative, a social singing group for people with neurological conditions.

A light morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided as part of your registration.
We look forward to having you join us for this exciting day together!
