Duet Biosketch:
Bernhard Weis (Violin) & Susanne Reichl (Piano)

Bernhard and Susanne formed their musical partnership approximately 3 years ago. Austrian composers contributing to the Classical era through to the early 20th century so far comprise the primary focus of the duet's musical endeavours.

In particular, Bernhard and Susanne have mastered the art of recreating the ambience of historic Vienna, which can be attributed to many of these compositions. The duet has presented numerous concerts not only in Vienna, Austria ‐ but more recently also in Poland, Portugal, Italy, Germany, and the UK.

Bernhard Weis ‐ was born in Germany and has been a musician there for many years. He eventually relocated to Austria, residing in Vienna since 2009, where he has engaged in both chamber and orchestral music. Bernhard has been affiliated with the "Wiener Konzertvereiningung" and "Wiener Tonkunst" ‐ both are musical associations hosting recurring concert events in the Greater Vienna area.

Susanne Reichl ‐ was born and raised in Vienna, where she initiated her musical career by studying piano at the "Wiener Konservatorium". Over the years, she also became proficient in musical accompaniment, working with and mentoring vocalists of various backgrounds.

Her area of expertise is the proper use of the German language in voice performance. Susanne has accepted invitations to several international concert venues located in Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Mexico, Guatemala, and the US.

Both musicians are looking forward to the opportunity to perform in New Zealand, as this would add not just another highlight to their careers, but more importantly fulfil a major dream.

They will be playing compositions from the Art-Deco era and famous classical melodies including Kleine Nachtmusik by W.A. Mozart, An der schönen blauen Donau (150th anniversary) by Johann Strauß, Serenata by Enrico Toselli as well as pieces by composers from the Art Deco era (Edward Elgar, Fritz Kreisler, Leo Portnoff).
