Move Into Ease - A Self Fascial Release and Somatic Awareness Workshop

This workshop will present a number techniques and practices to access, rehydrate and release myofascial tissue, allowing suppleness and ease of movement to return to areas of tension or dysfunction.

It is aimed at anyone interested in movement and self-treatment, the subtle somatic arts of moving with and towards ease and awareness. movement practitioners, dancers, actors, bodyworkers and body therapists, students and teachers of martial arts, qigong, tai chi and yoga.

The techniques taught in this workshop are drawn from qigong, Chinese medicine, osteopathy and scientific stretching, and can be applied to any body-based practice.

Participants will learn self and partnered myofascial release techniques and subtle ways to engage tissues with the hands, as well as through self-generated movement. Basic asanas and dynamic stretching movements will be considered to demonstrate the principles and techniques and to practice feeling subtle changes in tissue tension.
