Ever wondered what Mindfulness is all about?

Mindfulness is being present and aware in the moment without judgement! You learn to have more attention and balance. Being more open and accepting creates an enhanced ability to respond to events with wiser decisions. Being mindful means having a better understanding of what we're thinking and how we're feeling in any given moment.

Mindfulness enables us to see how and when we fall into our 'automatic' pilots of thought, emotions, distractions and resistances. This can be very helpful if we want to change aspects of our lives for the better.

Mindfulness is a skill that can be learnt, just like any other skill. Just like any other skill, you need to use it every day for it to work and for you to feel the benefits - like learning a new sport!

This two-hour workshop will start with an introduction talk about Mindfulness combined with practical Mindfulness practices.

You will take away practical skills that you can use in your life. Included in the price is a guided meditation and handouts to take home. Please bring a USB stick for your free guided meditation.

My name is Antonia, I live in Matapouri. I have been meditating for 17 years and teaching meditation practices since 2007. I run a Mindfulness business called WiseView with my business partner. I am also a trained Yoga Teacher and I have been teaching yoga since 2003.

My background is in teaching.

Presently, I am studying with the Mindfulness Institute of Australasia in Sydney, where I have just completed Level 1 of their international training course. I am training to deliver MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course) courses. An eight-week mindfulness program based on the work by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn.

If you would like to find out a bit more about Mindfulness practices and how they can benefit your life or you're interested in de-stressing, learning to deal with pain, anxiety or difficulty, Mindfulness may well be a great tool for you.
