This is an exhibition of recent works by South Canterbury artist Michael Armstrong. The paintings in 'The Blurred Fringe of the Hyperbolic' are predominantly on canvas with the addition of drawings and sculpture which explore the political, philosophical and scientific environments surrounding Armstrong which are reflections and commentaries on contemporary life.

Armstrong has over four decades of exhibiting history graduating from University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts in 1976. He has been a tutor in art at the Timaru Aoraki Polytech since 1994. His many awards include the prestigious Francis Hodgkins Fellowship which he held in 1984.
