All welcome to the Wellington Buddhist Centre on our Tuesday open night.

This evening is the third in a series we are doing on Great Buddhist Teachers of the Past. Tonight there will be two short presentations followed by meditation.

Dennis will talk about Atisha (980-1054) who was from an Indian Vajrayana family he gave last 12 years of his life to re-establishing the Dharma in Tibet.

Atisha was the author of “Lamp on the Path to Enlightenment” which was the source text for the development, between 300 – 1200 CE, of the Lojong mind training practice, often referred to as the 7 Points of Mind Training.

Jasmine will tell us about Dhardo Rimpoche (1917-1990) Eminent Gelugpa tulku who formed a close friendship with Sangharakshita (the founder of our Buddhist movement) in Kalimpong.

Some of Dhardo Rimpoche’s relics are in the stupa at our retreat Centre near Thames, Sudarshanaloka. Cherish the Doctrine – Live United – Radiate Love.

Each evening is stand alone, even when it is part of a series. The evening begins with a short talk on an aspect of Buddhism with opportunity for questions and discussion; then a tea break; followed by a period of meditation.
